I have attributed my cauliflower soup recipe to the Pioneer Woman, I seem to have a niggling thought that the notion of using a white sauce the thicken a cauliflower soup came from something either on her site or attributed to her years ago.
I love curried parsnip soup and one of the great triumphs in our garden this year is finally the success of parsnips, a vegetable rarely heard of in Hungary, the relatively similar but definitely not the same parsley root rules the day out here and it just does not work in this type of soup!
Corn soup tends to come in the form of a chowder and whilst that is delicious I am still stuffed after spending 10 days eating out in Hungarian Restaurants with their very generous portions and hearty food style.
After 10 days of eating out in overly generous Hungarian Restaurants it was nice to settle down to a bowl of simple Hoisin Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner this evening, particularly as this style of food is one of my favourites
Shakshouka or Shakshuka is an ancient tomato based stew from North Africa. My version adds red peppers and is of course baked with a couple of eggs! Gimme some crusty bread and the pan straight from the oven and I am a happy bunny.
This fennel soup recipe is bright, vibrant and packed full of summer flavour. The aniseed flavour of the fennel is perfectly complimented by almost citrus like sorrel making it the perfect summer soup!
A potato soup is typically a hearty winter warmer, this on is full on summer, featuring new potatoes, peas and lots of herbs. It is served in a well flavoured vegetable broth then it is topped with a perfectly poached egg!
